From 6th April 2026, benefit rates across the UK have increased as part of the government’s annual uprating. Small changes in benefit rates can make a difference, especially during the ongoing cost of living pressures. Always check your entitlement and stay informed about updates.
If you receive support such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Personal Independence Payment, or other state benefits, you should now be receiving your updated amount.
You should also receive a letter or message explaining your new payment rate and what has changed. It’s important to read this carefully so you understand how much you will be getting during current financial year.
Please make sure to check your bank account regularly to confirm that the updated payment has been received.
If your payment looks incorrect, has not increased, or you haven’t received any notification, it may be worth contacting the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) or your relevant benefits office.
