The cost of childcare can be a major challenge for many families. Under the current government-funded childcare scheme in England, eligible working parents may be able to access free childcare hours to help reduce childcare costs and support parents who are working, returning to work, or increasing their working hours.
Eligible working parents can currently access up to 30 hours of free childcare per week during term time for children aged from 9 months until they start school.
The scheme is available to families who meet certain eligibility requirements, including employment and income criteria. It can be used with approved childcare providers, including nurseries, childminders and other registered childcare settings.
