On Thursday, 6 October 2016, we hosted Andy Slaughter MP, a member of Parliament representing Hammersmith. We discussed issues affecting Eastern Europeans living and working in Hammersmith: housing, access to welfare aid and fair employment. We also talked about recent hate crime incidents and ways of supporting our communities so that people feel empowered and respected as equal members of the Hammersmith community, one of the oldest Eastern European areas in London and the UK.
We are making efforts to raise funds for dedicated activities supporting Eastern Europeans who have been victims of hate incidents or witnessed them. Our project would focus on tailored work with individuals and families. Andy Slaughter MP has enthusiastically supported our plans and pledged to give recommendation in support of our project.
