We went to the Mayor of London’s office to speak about increase of community tensions after the referendum

We are members of the Migrant and Refugee Advisory Panel to the Mayor of London and we went (July 5) to speak with the Mayor’s office about what we can all do to stop hate speech and hate crime and bring peace to our communities.

We looked at increase of racially motivated incidents across all communities, not only the European ones as well as solutions that Greater London Authority could implement to discourage racism and xenophobia. We discussed increase of racially motivated harassment at work and schools and talked with Mayor’s crime and policing team about improved ways of reporting hate crime.

We will continue these conversations so watch this space!
