Romanian National Day in the Romanian Embassy in London

On the 1st of December Romania celebrated its Day of Independence, commemorating the day the country became free in 1918. We were invited and had an opportunity to have a productive chat with the consulate’s attaché for labour and social affairs and the director of economic affairs as well as other stakeholders. We discussed issues of reaching out to exploited Romanian and other Eastern European workers and remedies to tackle migrant worker exploitation.
